Top 5 Freelance Bookkeeping Promotional Methods
If you’ve been freelance bookkeeping for awhile, I’m sure you’ve struggled to come up with more ways to promote your bookkeeping business. So here’s a list of my top 5 favorite ways:
1. Posting in Business Forums:
Go to Google and find a forum in a “niche” you’d like to do bookkeeping in. For example, if you’d like to do online bookkeeping for Internet Marketers search for the term “internet marketing forums”. Many businesses like to meet online with other people in the same business to discuss issues they’re having. So find these business owners and start making friends with them.
2. Place an Ad on Craigslist.org:
Not only can you place a free ad yourself here, but you can also find businesses who are searching for a bookkeeper and contact them for free. You’ll have to convince them of the benefits of hiring a freelance bookkeeping business over an employee so make sure you have lots of facts and figures to send them.
3. Using Twitter:
Many freelance bookkeepers have discovered the benefits of Twitter. Check it out for yourself. Start following a few people and pretty soon other people (and potential clients) will start following you. You should have a website so that clients can check out your services online.
4. Send out a Monthly Ezine:
Again, you’ll need a website so that people can signup for your ezine. But sending out a monthly ezine is a great way to keep in contact with potential clients for FREE. Send them information they can use and they’ll stay subscribed until they’re ready to hire you.
5. Send out a Postcard:
You’ll need a list to do this, but you can easily create one by going online and finding the list of new business licenses issued by your local city. Then put together the post cards, stamp them and mail them out. You can change them up each month so that they’re more interesting for the recipient.
